SOMOS Yoga presents
a 200-Hour Teacher Training Inspired by India.
Now Open for Registration
Rooted in the traditions of India, integrated with modern anatomy and nervous system science, this curriculum is designed to be felt — not just learned.
Bringing India to Corpus:
What makes this training different?
This training was shaped through direct study in India, where yoga was taught as an integrated discipline — breath, cleansing, meditation, philosophy, and movement practiced together.
That structure informs this program.
Teacher Trainees will experience:
Traditional shatkarma cleansing practices
Classical pranayama & meditation techniques
Study philosophy in context
Understand anatomy functionally
Nervous system regulation through movement and recovery and more.
This is Embodiment-based education.
You will not memorize concepts. You will experience them.
What You’ll Learn:
• The historical evolution of yoga and the philosophical foundations that shape modern practice
• The Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras — applied
• Traditional Shatkarma cleansing practices and their physiological relevance
• Six classical pranayama techniques and how breath influences the autonomic nervous system
• Six meditation methods and how they affect attention, stress response, and regulation
• Functional anatomy for yoga — joint mechanics, muscular engagement, and injury prevention
• The fundamentals of nervous system regulation: sympathetic vs. parasympathetic states and practical application
• How sequencing influences physiological state and recovery
• The role of heat, cold exposure, and restorative modalities in stress adaptation
• Intelligent class sequencing using yoga families and “shapes”
• Clear, structured cueing for precise and confident teaching
• Modifications and progressions for different bodies and experience levels
• How to regulate yourself before leading others
• How to teach in a way that is grounded, professional, and embodied
The advantage of learning at SOMOS
SOMOS is more than just a “Yoga” studio.
We are a Wellness Center.
In addition to all the traditional teachings of a 200HR YTT, teacher trainees can also expect to experience movement paired with recovery and central nervous system regulation techniques:
• Contrast Therapy (heat + cold exposure)
• Halo Therapy (respiratory support)
• Heated Stone Therapy
• Breathwork in thermal environments
You will not just learn about Regulation. You will embody it.
